The Iki Island expansion in Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut introduces several mysterious Wind Shrines that pay homage to classic PlayStation franchises. Among these hidden monuments is the Shrine in Shadow, an intriguing location dedicated to the legendary title Shadow of the Colossus. Unlocking its secret requires players to decode an enigmatic poem and fulfill specific gear requirements.
Where to Find the Shrine in Shadow Location
To discover the Shrine in Shadow, players must travel to the southern coastline of Iki Island. The shrine itself is situated high within the cliffside pathways near the Buddha's Footprints region.
Approaching the location from the eastern side allows players to spot a small wooden mat and candle setup. From there, careful platforming and grappling across the rocky ledges will lead directly to the main shrine statue.
Deciphering the Forgotten Shrine Riddle
Upon arriving at the monument, players will discover a scroll containing a distinct Tanka poem. The clue mentions a colossus felled to save a soul, alongside instructions to come like mist as a ghost casting no shadow.
The phrases in the riddle directly point toward two specific gameplay elements in Jin Sakai's arsenal. Identifying these hints is essential for triggering the cutscene that completes the shrine challenge.
Step-by-Step Solution for the Shrine Puzzle
To solve the puzzle, players must first equip the Ghost Armor, which is unlocked late in Act 2 of the main campaign. Once the armor is equipped, stand directly in front of the central shrine statue.
Next, throw a Smoke Bomb onto the ground to satisfy the requirement of appearing through the mist. Doing so will immediately trigger a short cutscene confirming that the puzzle has been successfully solved.
Exclusive Shadow of the Colossus Rewards
Completing the Shrine in Shadow unlocks special crossover cosmetic gear for Jin. Players will receive the Mask of the Colossus along with the Armor of the Colossus dye variant for the Ghost Armor.
These rewards allow players to customize their appearance with iconic visual motifs inspired by Shadow of the Colossus. If you are searching for a comprehensive walkthrough, finding the Ghost Of Tsushima Shrine In Shadow Location And Solution is one of the most satisfying secrets on Iki Island.
